The Projector Guy

Brandon Kinney is the founder of r/BudgetProjectors, a Reddit community of more than 20,000 projector enthusiasts. Through Budget Projectors, his guidance has reached over 5 million visits from people trying to buy the right projector the first time.

What started in 2016 as answering questions on Reddit has grown into brand collaborations, honest hands-on feedback, and buying advice that gets straight to the point.

His background includes time at Geek Squad, where he handled sales and installation of home appliances and entertainment products.

He keeps the buyer's perspective and vision in mind with every recommendation.

Brandon's approach is room-first. The right projector depends on your space, its size, its light, your seating, more than on any spec sheet. That's the philosophy behind every guide on this site, and behind the personalized consultations he offers to readers who want a recommendation built around their exact setup.

When he's not testing projectors, he's listening to music, tinkering with electronics, or deep in a research rabbit hole, and he's in the community answering questions on r/BudgetProjectors and Discord.
